Loved the quaint little town and the shops, restaurants and pubs available to us. Also, the grocery store was very well stocked and the SPAR there had laundry facilities that we so badly needed to use.

Plenty of excellent restaurants in Clifden from mid-price to expensive. Great coffee and snacks available at very reasonable prices. Good shopping and excellent craft/art/souvenir shops in the town. Beautiful Church with small but sincere congregation. Lovely clean town, adequate parking available.

There is so much to see. I'm a walker and we were able to access many great walks - mountain, sea and forest walks. We had a car to get to locations. Good location for exploring Connemara. Fabulous scenery. Plenty places to eat in the evenings.

A beautiful area in the National Park.
A beautiful area in the National Park. The little town centre was quite vibrant for such a remote area and lots of independent cafes and shops It was possible to do manageable walks (even for us oldies)

Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a very well stocked supermarket in the town and the surroundings were very clean and well maintained. Getting a local taxi was a bit of a problem so we had to drive everywhere, which didn't allow us to have a drink in the town as our accommadation was about 3 miles outside the village.
Quaint and clean B&B, decorated with cute cows throughout (Buttermilk theme 😀). Catriona was helpful and gracious. The Irish breakfast was absolutely delicious (probably the best we had in Ireland) and the staff went above and beyond in serving. Easy walk into town for dinner and shopping. Spent our first two nights in Ireland here and thoroughly enjoyed. Took a day trip to Inishbofin which we highly recommend. It's a ferry ride away.
Thank you, Catriona for a lovely stay!
The location is excellent - overlooking Mannin beach, the sea and mountains - its a very picturesque are of Galway/Ireland
Its 10 minutes from Clifden (great Restaurants & Pubs there) and also close to the Roundstone and the fabulous Dogs Bay beach
The breakfast choice was very good and cooked to order.
The staff are really friendly and helpful - there is an onsite Spa service also
The room we had was really large - it had 2 bedrooms and a separate living room with TV
.No wifi.no breakfast.room SERIOUSLY dated.loud music.seriously wasted idiots in bar..fighting.guards called.ive been travelling around ireland for years for work...this worst. How can you oay 100 euro night. No breakfast. But in this day.....noi wifi...and r channels on tv u couldn't watch cos of postion..id rather slept in car.......trust me....other hotels locally say im not first to walk out....
Receptionist (didn't catch her name) on Friday evening who arranged an additional night's stay (despite the hotel being full) for my two rooms was super helpful and very pleasant to deal with, great attitude.
Room was very clean with housekeeping doing a great job!
Very convenient for Clifden town centre and parking good.
Keeping my bike in my room was permitted and appreciated.
Room looked exactly like the pictures. The location in Clifden was excellent as we were able to walk around and explore the town and grab a bite to eat in one of the many local pubs. Easy check in process. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals and even had the kitchen essentials like coffee and tea and olive oil, salt and pepper.
My wife and I were in Ireland for 11 days, each day a different lodging. Ardagh was by far the best of the lot. I know the rating only goes to 10, but this place is in a league of its own....a 20 as far as I am concerned. Friendly staff, wonderful location, great breakfast, clean. Sadly we did not get to eat dinner as we had other commitments.
Ruth and Stewart were wonderful hosts; great location five minutes from Clifden and 25 minutes from Connemara National Park. Our room (we stayed in the corner room #5; we were pleased to find out it was the U2 room) was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was great. Highly recommend.
Excellent property near the town and looking on to the Station House hotel courtyard so we felt part of the action yet still on our own. Lovely cafe "Steam" in the courtyard as well ad other shops. Spotlessly clean and, while we didn't cook, there was everything one needed for a great stay
Very very roomy, comfortable king size bed, quiet, price very reasonable. No breakfast but coupon given for €10 breakfast at downtown hotel which we used and was very good. Front desk person gave good advice to our questions. On edge of town but 1 km walk to the Station bar.
Apartment style setting in a room with a skylight, king size bed and large tv and a small kitchen across the hall. It was clean and comfortable. Very well supplied and an attentive host. We wished we had stayed longer to explore Clifden!
The guesthouse was hard to find. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Their dinner suggestion was very good and the music at Lowry’s was awesome! The best we heard in Ireland! Breakfast was very good also.
The hotel is right in the centre of Clifden , wouldn’t have picked a better hotel to stay in! The hotel room was the nicest room I’ve ever stayed in, had a smart tv and the loveliest bathroom and shower.
We stayed in BnB's almost exclusively during our 2 weeks in Ireland and the Buttermilk was hands down the best of all. The room was lovely, breakfast out of this world and easy walk to town.
Cosy, clean & comfortable retreat in scenic/peaceful location a short drive from Clifden town. The owners were very helpful & quick to respond to any queries.
Loely spot in the centre of Clifden. Rooms are nice and warm. Great restaurant and lovely pub attached to the hotel. Staff are friendly and look after you!
