This city is a short distance from Lucerne.
This city is a short distance from Lucerne. There are frequent trains that go to Lucerne and further into Unterwalden. The main attraction in Hergiswill is the glass works and its museum and restaurant. There is a boat that stops there. One of its benefits is hotels that cost less than Lucerne Hotels and offer great views of the Lake. Consider it a suburb of Lucerne.Ramon - 10Scored 10

It's a very lovely hotel, location is perfect right in front of the lake. 10 minutes for a lovely walk from the Hergiswil train station to the hotel. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Oh and it's only 2 stations away to the Alpnachstad Pilatus station.

Hergiswil is a perfect location on the Lake of Lucerne with...
Hergiswil is a perfect location on the Lake of Lucerne with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We decided to walk up from Hergiswil to Pilatus which is quite steep, especially after Fräkmümtegg, which is the halfway stop with gondola station and restaurants. This hike is about 5 hours and there are sensational views down to the lake. At the top, there is choice of cable car down to Kriens, followed by a short train journey back to Hergiswil or the"steepest funicular in Europe " down to Alpnachstad, which we chose, Hergiswill is not far from Alpnachstad and a short return journey by boat on the lake is the relaxing way to end the trip.

Very nice village close to Luzern. right on the lake with public beaches and dozens of hiking trails. there is lots to do for couples and families. It's Switzerland, so dining options are expensive for what you get, but you won't starve.

Also, this was the best & most comfortable bed I experienced in all the hotels I've stayed at in Switzerland. Additionally, the room has complete black-out shutters which block out all light and noise if you are sensitive. The AC was fantastic, very cold! I used the wellness facilities each day of my stay and felt that they added tremendous value. The room has a refrigerator, which was nice if you want to have extra drinks on hand.

The interiors are modern and well designed. Migro supermarket is 50m from the property which is amazing. Also the Hergiswill NW train station is 5 minutes walk from the place. Spa and massage services made for such a relaxing time. The staff were professional and courteous. The receptionist Linda Blaetner was very friendly and helpful, always with a smile. The room was comfortable and the balcony had a great view of the lake and town below. Super quiet. If you want to go to the city or other sights, just go to the train station below and hop on. The restaurant had wonderful Swiss specialties.
