Étretat is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen. The cliffs, I mean. And Jardins d’Etretat. Don’t miss Jardins. The town, however, is super touristy. There are no good restaurants. I’d say sleep somewhere else and visit Étretat for a day.

Etretat is a lovely, relaxing little seaside resort. Not much to do in town except relax and eat at one of the excellent little restaurants. Good place to explore local towns like Dieppe or Fecamp. Good walks and views up on the cliffs.

Beautiful seaside town, was a bit overcrowded when we went and city center was closed to cars which meant everyone was pouring over to outside carparks which were overflowing. Best to avoid July/August time. Lots of restaurants but there could be a queue to get in due to overcrowding. There are lots of fish restaurants, nice places for icecream, lots of very sweet and unusal shops.

Staff at both the hotel and a highly rated pizza restaurant were rude and complacent. Everywhere else along the north coast of France was quite the opposite, and so I wonder if this is an issue with the people working in Etretat. I found the town to be very disappointing and was glad to leave.

Fantastic walks along the cliffs and the beach. Stunning views on each direction. The gardens are interesting with sculptures augmenting the features of the gardening. Etretat Town gets very busy with coach trips and is quite expensive.JanMetUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0
Etretat is a very scenic place.
Etretat is a very scenic place. We visited in February so it didn't have a lot of tourists but a lot of places were closed, The cliffs are a must see and the walk up there is worth it. Walking around is made easy by the fact that the city center is not accessible to cars but parking can and will get expensive the closer you are to the city center (1€ for 30 min in the red zone). I would advise to come by train as much as possible or find a parking spot outside of the city if you're ok with walking.

Etretat is one of the most picturesque places in France. The view on the coastline is sublime. The location (views, views, views!) the rooms, the staff, the food are all excellent. Having stayed in Etretat once before in a hotel in the center of town, I always wanted to return and try Dormy House. What a treat. We highly recommend it. Etretat is so charming, and from Dormy House, you can see the beach and the Falaise d'Amont. It also an easy walk down a short hill to centre ville and to the hiking paths of Falaise d'Aval.

We also took advantage and went to jacuzzi at the top of the hotel and it was such an unforgettable experience. This place has my heart...I loved Normandie because we had such a lovely stay here! The place was very calm and clean. Would definitely recommend! She gave many tips to go out for dinner in Etretat. From the Wood Cottage, the seaside and centre are not more than 10 min walking.
