Lots of people regard Grenoble as a transit point - en route to other places such as ski-resorts. To me the town had an industrial feel to it as a result. It was very clean, no graffiti to speak of, and had some lovely free green spaces to sit in the park. Sadly the weather was not good enough when I was there - but I walked through them!

We personally found it unwelcoming and horrible.
We personally found it unwelcoming and horrible. We found that people were nasty to us as soon as we said we couldn’t speak much French. We also ended up eating in our hotel room every night because how the locals would treat us. Wasn’t a good trip for us personally. If you speak a good amount of French then I’m sure you’d enjoy this trip.

Where are the street lights?
Where are the street lights?
Walking back to the hotel around 9 p.m. after dinner was a bit hazardous. So many people on scooters whizzing past at speed, many dresssed in black, no lights on the vehicle and no lights to see them coming.
Where were the hot springs. Closed at the weekend

Great base to explore the local nature hikes in warmer months. If you plan ahead several of these are accessible by public transport. Also, if you like art (even a little bit) the Musee de Grenoble's permanent collection is amazing and free to visit.

Disapointing experience due to the city environment, streets are globaly dirty, walls full of grafitis and many shops are damaged (after recent riots). Even some caves of the Bastille are covered with grafs! The city seems to be abandoned and really unsafe, what a pity when you look at the moutains all around and the potential of this location 😞

We only had an overnight stay.
We only had an overnight stay. Was concerned by the amount of shop windows in the town that appeared to have been smashed and were either boarding up and left. Felt slightly uneasy walking around in the evening.
Great hotel. My room, on the river facing-side of the building, had a great window view; and there was a large desk by the window, so a little bit of working with laptop I had to do was both super-comfy and pleasand with that view. Arriving to the hotel with car was easy, and they have a nice parking in the yard. Looking at the map, I believe the train station is also very near, and the city center is walking distance away. Breakfast was fine.
This appartment is well-located, next to the Parc Paul Mistral, about 15 minutes' walk for the historic centre of Grenoble; there are two supermarkets and a boulangerie within 5 minutes' walk. It's very comfortable and well-equipped overall (the washing machine is a particular bonus). There's a nice balcony for warm evenings. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed. Access arrangements were straightforward.
It was just a 10-minute walking distance from the WTC. An excellent location, within walking distance of all the major 'not-to-be-missed' places and restaurants. It was only 5 minutes away from the SNCF train station, which was very convenient. The hotel was clean, even though the owner didn't know English, they still provided everything. It's a tiny room, really suitable for a solo traveler and for the price.
First time in 20 years that I have given a mark of 10. Great location near the city centre
Secure carparking. Friendly, helpful and English speaking staff. Comfy bed, great shower, aircon (perfect for temperatures of nearly 40!) . Large buffet breakfast, perhaps the best we have had in years of coming to France.
Nice touches like iced sparking and still water on tap.
Good hotel, very friendly staff. I was able to alternate between "absolute darkness" and "very bright light" throughout the day, thanks to the good curtains and windows. The bed was hard, yet extremely comfortable. The room itself and the hotel territory ware pretty clean. Location is very good too, within walking distance from the main facilities. The price was fair
Very nice hotel in the center of Grenoble, freshly renovated.
Very kind personnel, careful to customer needs: we did not book a parking place, and when we arrived the parking was fully booked. Nevertheless, they managed to give us a place to park our car. Great stuff!
Warm and comfortable rooms, even though a bit small.
We did not try the breakfast.
The hotel was only 2 blocks from the train station and only a 5 minute walk to the old town in Grenoble I was also able to secure a parking spot in the garage under the hotel by luckily making a phone call to the hotel ahead of time to secure a spot . It was only 8 euros a day.
Breakfast was more than adequate considering COVID restrictions.
The location was perfect and the staff was very accommodating. The hotel is close to everything. The train station, shopping, grocery store right next door and the best pizza restaurant in town is across the street. The breakfast was overall pretty good and the doors were locked at night. So I felt safe at this hotel.
Very pretty apartment ideally located in Grenoble, along the tram line and walking distance from city centre and attractions (including cafés, shops and restaurants). Homey feeling, decorated with taste. The kitchen is great, the bed very comfortable.
Location was excellent - close to station, shops and restaurants in the centre of Grenoble.
Room was compact but fully functional and well laid out with fridge and microwave.
Excellent value for money.
Instructions were well provided from host.
Location was good close to the Gare de Grenoble but it was on the opposite side of the city so the area is more residential. The room size was ok minus. Hangers in the bathroom. A lot of storage and a well equipped kitchen. Staff was great
The view from the balcony allowed us to dip our gaze into the relaxed air of the Grenoblesse air and the apartment was such a nice commodity for one night. Also the apartment's caretaker was amazing!
It is a beautiful authentic hotel, great location in the centre of Grenoble, a nice host and an extensive (organic) breakfast. I would definitely recommend the hotel for a visit of this nice town.
Staff was excellent. I was sick when stayed at the hotel after a long flight and they helped me find a doctor and navigate the French medical system until I finally got the medical help I needed.
Free Parking on site
Hotel location very close to the Metro station and only 15mins from the centre of Grenoble
Good comfortable room
Check-in staff very helpful and accommodating
The young man at check in was super. He helped us with luggage, gave us a parking space in front of the hotel,
and directed us to a good restaurant for dinner.
