Great hotel in a great location right by the quay, but away from the busy part. Excellent staff led by Victor who was really helpful and amazingly for a French person, speaks quite a lot of Irish! Thanks Victor for a great few days in your lovely Hotel. Breakfast was perfect also.

Beautiful place, great for families. Leave the car in one of the car parks on the periphery of town and enjoy easy cycles and fresh air! We didn’t use our car again once the bikes were hired for the week. We went out of season, can imagine the cycling gets a bit manic in high season.

The overall ambiance is superb. Good restaurants.
The overall ambiance is superb. Good restaurants. Very busy during the day.
Not the cheapest on Ile de Re and certainly not in France. Bridge toll is high.
Weather can be very fickle..............
We love it and the rest of the island.
Parking is very expensive but parking at the beach less than a mile to walk back is free.

Saint Martin de Re is worth visiting and there lovely fish restaurants, shops and possibly to go on cruises.
But I would recommend anyone not to stay at La Maison Douce as I had a terrible experience.
Book hotel in advance as it gets very busy until end of September.

Saint-Martin de Re is a charming village on Ile de Re.
Saint-Martin de Re is a charming village on Ile de Re. Great restaurants, wonderful bike paths, narrow streets that beckon you to explore. It’s status as one of France’s most beautiful villages is well -deserved! Don’t miss LaMartiniere, a family-run ice cream shop on the harbor in St. Martin and also by the Phare des Balleins.

The capital of this delightful island off La Rochelle (connected by a fine bridge), busy in high season, but with a super market and some very good shops and restaurants of great variety. Charming and quieter back streets, and a great base for cycling around the island.

A vibrant port area on the Island, where the larger ships dock in the harbour. Full of good bars and restaurants. Many people come into town for the evening and promenade around the harbour. There is a great choice of restaurants, from easy-going to high-class. It's a great place to have a very good evening of food, drink and "people watching".

The location of this hotel could not be better. It is situated right next to the Quay. It was noisy at night but we expected this as it was in the height of summer with lots of tourists and lots of live music. Restaurants and bars were just steps away, we loved it. The room pictures on Booking.com showed a superior room with a pair of long windows opening over the Quay and a cute table and 2 chairs. I had thought this would be our room but it was not, it did not however impact on the enjoyment of our stay. Would definitely visit again.
The reception staff were so friendly and pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. We only stayed for one night but they made sure that we had everything we needed, explained about where to have breakfast if we needed it and offered their support for any other needs we had. The hotel itself was lovely, clean, fresh and nice and quiet despite its location right on the port or St Martin.
Beautiful setting, room very clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotel is in an excellent location for the restaurants and old harbour.
'Top top'- having sought advice from the hotel, always pay for your parking directly at the pay station and not via the app, select option 2 'forfait' and this will cost 15 euros for 24 hours!
Un endroit très atypique, d’une élégante simplicité et sans arrogance.
what a beautiful hotel or guests house I’d rather call it.
everything is simply elegant, non arrogant.
beautiful rooms, staff and breakfast!
walking distance from nearby parking, beautiful short walk into the gorgeous village streets.
highly recommend it!
The location by the harbour in St Martin is great (opposite Hotel la Jetee where we've also stayed).
The endless swimming pool in the garden was good.
The public rooms in the main building were nicely presented - however our room was in an annex alongside the garden and not as well dressed.
Wonderful, spacious and full of character. Elodie the manager was prompt and friendly. Great location near the harbor but it is very quiet - the only thing I heard at night were gulls. The bathroom was as what you’d expect to find in a much more expensive hotel. Nice bath products.
A super kind and gentle reception lady that helped us a lot with the logistics of our bicycle tour. The location is without comparison : step outside of the hotel right into the lively port scene with shops, restaurants and cafés. Great hub for biking tours, car parking nearby.
Great hotel! Very comfortable room with nice touches like a welcome demi bottle of wine and fruit. Staff was attentive and really nice! Great terrace to watch the sunset and I had dinner afterward. Food was good. I loved this hotel !
A good hotel in the centre of St Martin with private parking, We only stayed for 1 night and every thing was fine. We would make a comment that the check in staff were particularly friendly polite and welcoming
Location was great, free bike storage a few streets away was very secure- lots of codes and keys to get into hotel, room and bike storage. Very clean room with amazing views. Staff were very nice.
