Paignton was a little run down in parts but it made up for it in charm.
We liked how easy it was to drive to other local places in the area. Agatha Christies home in nearby Galmpton and the NT property Fishacres are worth visiting for their amazing veiws and beautiful gardens. We enjoyed the fish and chips in Brixham and there's a lovely walk all round the quaint harbour.

Multi screen cinema on the front is only £4-99 if you book via your phone on the Vue website, at this price there is always plenty of seats available. The cinema overlooks Torbay road which has amusement arcades a few bars , cafes etc. There is a short stroll into town from here with a number of shops including Poundland. Plenty of buses available if you fancy a 15 minute trip into Torquay.

Paignton is fine, if you like climbing, pushing a wheelchair in the street can be hard, some street being steep. Paignton nice seafront ideal for young family. The big hotel 5 star suitable for the older generation. Activities and trips arranged by the hotel. Good food any time of the day. Torquay 3 miles away, great place to visit.

Paignton sea front was too busy for me but the actual town and the outskirts of the town have everything you need. Travelling to all the other towns and villages was very easy and paignton is a great base. The beaches around the coves are amazing.broadstones beach is stunning. All i will say is be prepared to pay everywhere to park even the beaches make sure you carry cash for the toilets too.

We stayed about 30 min walk from Paignton centre.
We stayed about 30 min walk from Paignton centre. Did go into Paignton. Quite busy on the seafront. The pier is mainly a big arcade. We couldn't access to the end of the pier when we went . Didn't go into the shopping centre.
We did get a Chinese take away from Rickshaw Boy and ate it in the car overlooking the sea ( made a change to fish and chips) We spent the day at the Zoo which was well worth it. Saw baby orangutan amongst other animals.
We went to Totnes which is a quirky place full of boutique shops, cafes and had a lovely feel about it.
Breakfast was excellent so much choice to choose from English fry to cereals, fruit and cooked freshly was superb, having a fridge and cool fan in the bedroom for this time of the year in July was excellent!!!
Friendly family run hotel, Molly was nice and cute dogs.
Location is like my second home, where my Grandparents lived in Paignton so I've been visiting Paignton since I was a child of eight years old.
I love the hotel right near the beach, Vue Cinema and town. It has everything here! I'd definitely recommend staying here.
The room was spacious and we were upgraded to the balcony room for free. JoDee was so kind, even dropping off our favorite tea (the box had corgis on it!)! Owners JoDee and James are super personable and available for questions. It felt like staying with family. The ocean views are absolutely spectacular with views of Paignton and Brixham. It's right by the beach but you're away from the noisy crowds but still close to food. And our balcony was amazing! We had dinner and drinks with family several times while we were there.
All the ingredients for a good breakfast (eg toast, cereals, fruit juice,...) were available for you to make yourself in the perfectly equipped kitchen. And with a spacious dining room with sea views it was great. Our bedroom had a sea view and we woke up to sunshine and views in the morning. The hotel is just a short walk from the train and bus stations so we were able to get out and about with ease.
This is a fabulous location close to all the local Paignton attractions. The park is very quiet and peaceful and situated in a beautiful location. Can't fault the lodge. It was emmaculate and had everything a family could need. Waking up each morning to the gorgeous views of the Devon countryside, perfect. The hot tub was great and kept the kids occupied for hours. We will definitely re visit this lodge.
Good location for travelling around Devon. Clean hotel with helping staff . We were given a lovely room in which we managed to relax and sleep properly . Your average British breakfast but it was offered and it matters . Loved Latitude restaurant , definitely recommend . Live entertainment some evenings , nice bar . All in all would recommend this hotel
I’ve haven’t stayed in Devon before and wanted a break away. Very nice hotel. We had a sea-view room which was comfortable and a good night sleep. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast nice. Super clean. Great location
Only a couple of miles from Torquay main sea front. Paignton sea front a walk out of the front of the hotel
Stayed here loads of times. At the moment there isn’t anywhere else in Paignton that I would want to stay, The Queens Hotel has it all. Staff are superb. Nice and clean. Entertainment is a fantastic bonus. The biggest recommendation I can give is that I keep coming back every year, there isn’t a better place to stay in Paignton.
Vernon the owner was attentive to detail and also offered me and my wife an extra night in upgraded accomadation at a cheaper rate , i could not accept the offer due to work commitments. He then offered us a lift to the rail station, again we declined the kind offer as only 10 minutes walk.
Requesting refund. Hotel was unsafe. Filthy, smelt rooms and corridors, in all areas .
Daughter got stuck in broken lift that had no sign warning not to use. This traumatised her. Staff rude and unhelpful.
Had to find alternative accommodation. Very stressful and upset stay in Devon.
Breakfast was really fine with a large selection of menu to suit all tastes.
The hotel is a family run business, all the staff where very helpful courteous and always on hand to help if needed.
With Covid-19 government guidelines fully followed.
Lovely, helpful staff in a wonderful hotel with incredible character. Considering facilities available, our stay felt like excellent value for money with sea views from our small balcony. Cannot fault the location or our experience overall.
We were in the right location to visit the Paignton zoo, were able to walk there and into Paignton, there is a bus service also. There were lots of things to do near our hotel and places to eat which were good value
My booking was room only. There are many places in Paignton to grab a morning snack. The location of the Clifton is remarkably quiet given its proximity to the town centre.
