We went there with our 5 year old child and she could stay for free. We booked a room for 2 adults and they upgraded us to a big room with a bunkbed, even though we didn't ask for it. The location is very close to the airport but we didn't hear any airplanes during the night. There is a bus station right in front of the hotel and you can be in the city center in 15 minutes.

The city is great, it's so varied with the park, historical buildings, that it's just fun to walk around. The casemates are interesting and there is a lot to see.
Would recommend anyone going into nature as well, I hiked part of the Mullerthal trail (second part), which was a bit tough, but absolutely stunning. It's in the Little Switzerland area and really deserves that name. A bus gets you there in about an hour, definitely worth it.

Luxembourg is a small, clean, safe, easy, beautiful city.
Luxembourg is a small, clean, safe, easy, beautiful city. I used the (free) tram like it was a hop on hop off bus. I did a city walking tour and an art tour. I had pre-booked a Petrusse casements tour in English.
The tourist office was helpful. They told me about the art tour which I had not seen online.
Fort Thungen is open Wednesday evenings. The National museum and City museum are open late on Thursdays. Villa Vauban is open until 9pm on Fridays.
Not much goes on for tourists in Luxembourg on Mondays. I spent two of my six days (Sun/Mon) in Trier where all of the Roman sites are open on Mondays. The train to Trier is six euros RT, 45 minutes away. WOW did I do a lot of walking between Trier's Roman sites. If I had a do-over I'd buy a Trier bus pass.

It was amazing. A very beautiful city.
It was amazing. A very beautiful city. After half an hour I felt like I never wanted to go home.
I had nice weather, could walk a lot around the city, tried the local foods and drinks.
I definitely will go back and recommend everyone to visit.
It was one of the most amazing places I've ever been.
I was lucky to visit the local market too.

Beautiful city with fairy tale views, nice walks (lovely along the river, through Parcs de la Petrusse) interesting history, and friendly people. Free public transport and/or very walkable, so very easy to get round this compact and pretty little city. Would thoroughly recommend. About 3 days was perfect, and I didn't feel like I'd missed anything, but if I'd have had longer, I would have gone further afield. Pretty kid friendly too from what I saw (although I didn't have kids). Struggled to find Luxembourgish food though.

Luxembourg is a pretty and romantic city with everything...
Luxembourg is a pretty and romantic city with everything within easy walking distance. Plenty for people who love history, walking, cafes, bars or shopping. We loved or 3 day stay, it is peaceful and easy going. It is more expensive than other European cities but not wildly so ! There is plenty of greenery around too with pretty gardens and a big park.
The breakfast spread was very good and the view at the restaurant was amazing! The serving staff at the restaurant and staff at the hotel were friendly and hospitable. We had such a great quiet room with a view, thank you to the staff (we didn't get his name) for giving us such a nice room. The location was ideal to walk to the city centre and it was a plus point to have a parking garage adjacent to the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sofitel very much and would definitely stay in this hotel again when we visit Luxembourg next time.
The location was absolutely excellent, i dont think you could be better located in Luxembourg. A short walk across the Bridge to the City Centre, a 5 minute walk to the Train Station and down the road, and you are in Grund. There is a lovely, newly opened tea shop across the road for great breakfasts. The TV was great, we watched Netflix and the wifi was very good. It was easy to find the keys on arrival, the instructions were clear.
Great hotel for the price! Quiet, comfortable rooms and soft beds. We had a family room and it was perfect for our family of 4. The bathrooms was modern and everything was very clean. We ordered food from their sister property next door and it was very good and reasonably priced. The hotel is a little outside the city center, but the tram runs right in front of the hotel and has you there in under 10 minutes. We had a great stay!
The room was very compact (as expected) so suited us for a 2 night stay but would be claustrophobic to stay any longer. The streets around it are a little dodgy, but it is an easy walk to the central train station, and regular trams into the city centre too - the trams are all ffree. The rooms was really clean and nicely decorated. Could have done with real cups for tea/coffee as only paper ones were available.
Hotel is in a central location close to city center.
Staff were very nice and helpful, fast and easy check in. Very good communication when messaging before arrival. I was arriving early and asked if I could check in early they told me if possible they would accommodate this and when I arrived quite early my room was ready.
Nice spacious room with fridge, safe TV, bathroom and efficient WIFI.
Stayed for two nights for a weekend getaway with my girlfriend. We were welcomed very nicely and accommodating by Maxime, who had some great advices for sights to see around and cheap parking possibilities in the city center.
Hotel is located about a quick 10/15 min drive to the center, very quiet surroundings and a classy looking bar/restaurant. Overall, recommend this place!
Conveniently located no more than 10 min away from Luxembourg’s city centre, yet in a very quiet area. Amazing breakfast for €21, which is not bad for Luxembourg City. Staff were very polite, room was a bit small but with everything you need for a 2 night stay (especially a comfortable bed) and the facilities were very good. Highly recommended!
It's one of the closest hotels to the Luxembourg (city) train station, an easy 3-minute walk even with baggage. It's definitely a hotel for the car-free traveler. The bathroom and shower facilities were some of the best that I encountered on this trip.
The location is good as it is easy to get to the city center of Luxembourg via public transport. The facilities at the hotel are great and the staff are so frinedly. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The place has good value for money, the location is perfect and it has a good connection with the city centre. The rooms are comfortable and clean. In general, it is a good place to stay in Luxembourg.
The staff were very attentive, friendly and responsive. The surrounding neighbourhood is calm and quiet at night. The hotel is close to public transport routes and well connected to the city center.
Very close to the airport, so easy to check-in and checkout and just walk to/from the airport.
20min to city center and Transport in Luxembourg is free so very easy. Bus at the door of the hotel
The location is perfect for a weekend visit to the city. The tram line that connects the train station, city center and the hotel stops in front of the hotel. The room is comfortable and clean.
The location of the hotel is perfect - right in the city center of Luxembourg. Breakfast is included in the room rate, which is a great point and overall the room was nice for one night stay.
Good value for money in Luxembourg. There's free parking so you can leave your car there and use the free bus to get to the city centre in 16mins (bus stop right next to the hotel).
Apartment was new and roomy with kitchen facilities and a balcony. Location was close to a tram stop which then gave quick access to Luxembourg main station and the city centre.
It's 10 minutes walk from the city center. It's located in a quiet place (compares to the hotels in the city center that can get very noisy because it's too close to bars).
