Beach and Fun in Penang
Batu Ferringhi is a combination of a beach resort packed with modern hotels and a tropical Asian paradise. Located in the Penang area of northern Malaysia, it is one of the biggest resorts of its kind in the country. Restaurants, shopping centres and numerous modern services and facilities are also available, along with its well-known ‘Pasar Malam’ or Night Market.
The strip along Jalan Batu Ferringhi Street is the main service area, and you’ll find a large variety of hotels on the beach, apartments and guest houses. The area can be divided in three different zones: Tanjung Bungah to the east, Batu Ferringhi itself, and the quieter Teluk Bahang to the west. Check the hotels map to see which area is the most convenient for you.
Things to do in the surroundings include the ‘Butterfly Farm’, home to a collection of thousands of beautiful specimens; and the ‘Spice Garden’, which features a lush landscape with a large variety of herbs and spices. The town is located only 16 km from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town’s historic centre.
It can be reached by bus, or via a 45-minute flight from Kuala Lumpur to Penang Airport. Before enjoying the sun and fun of Batu Ferringhi, don’t miss the accommodation deals available on Booking.com!

This is a rather conservative (no alcohol served or allowed, except in rooms) family-oriented facility that is somewhat isolated with limited food and entertainment facilities. The better rooms have wonderful sea views that are perhaps the highlight of the place, along with the colorful “Balinese” color schemes inside the rooms and outside of the buildings. This is not a “beach” resort, since there is only a beach at Low tide and that is very narrow and rocky. I booked the room after a hectic three-week trip to Thailand and Malaysia, in order to chill out before heading home. However, the daytime and evening noise levels at the facility and my room’s thin walls made chilling out very difficult. I would advise anyone contemplating staying here to request a room away from the pools and the restaurant. It happened unbeknownst to me that I booked for the final days of the Chinese New Year, and that may have generated the noise levels since the place was packed with families with children (I was traveling solo, and as far as I could tell, I was the only solo traveler at the facility).

The location , beach and ambience were great.
The location , beach and ambience were great. We stayed at the Park Royal Hotel. It was lovely, staff were helpful and always smiling.
We really enjoyed our stay. We ate at Grand Lebanon Restaurant, the food was delicious and service was great at the restaurant.
We also ate at the Enca restaurant (Indian Cuisine) and enjoyed the food which was excellent value for money and delicious.
We picked up some souveniers at the Batu Ferringhi night market also.

The gardens at the bay view were maintained beautifully and the cleaners never seemed to stop around the pool and restaurant area although it was requested that people did not enter wet. Well what can I say???

Batu Ferringhi is basically a strip of hotels/resorts along the main road with some restaurants, shops, massage places and night market along the road as well. Apart from visiting the beach, enjoying the pool area at your hotel, there is not much to do. Beaches are not the best, while we were there, there were signs to watch out for stingers, so we did not go in the water. The local grab drivers told us for nice beach holiday go to Langkawi instead.

I realy recommend this place
Good views of the sea, sunset, and weather. Very comfortable beds, nice bed linen, lights over bed for reading. Quiet location away from nightlife but in easy (10 min ) walk of beach, bars, restaurants, night market. Good bus service has lots of stops through Batu Ferringhi for those who need it. (Be advised that they seemed to be moving the stop right outside the apartments - maybe just updating them, but be aware) Staff in the building very nice. Good lifts.
The facilities was superb, nice and beautiful places, breakfast kids corner, beach view is great, splash zone is awesome, and love the lifeguard always ready to take care of us,friendly too..the best reception room with the kids playground.. with all the good friendly staff ready to assist us with a smile.. my son keep asking this hotel from JB to Penang, and finally, it exceeds my expectations.. all happy with a good memory together in here.Thank you guys..
The hotel locate beach front, variety pool, mini water park suits for family stay.
Room is large, only downsize is on lower level (3F).
Swift check in/out process, you settle all upon check in and at check out you only need to drop the key in the box, no need to queue. They provide you a "Covid kit" upon check in for items as mask, hand sanitizer...
Opposite of hotel had a very good seafood restaurant with decent price
Bed is super comfy. Plus point is they don’t have carpet (I dislike carpet as it is the place for dust mite to grow).
I love how big the hotel is for me and my son to walk around.
My son enjoyed the water slides.
I also love love love their in room service - I ordered twice the Penang Curry noodle for dinner because I love it so much. My son also enjoyed the in room service.
Will definitely come again.
Really nice hotel , kind of old but very nice location, easy access to food n shopping. Also really nice staff, checking in n out was easy n fast. The staff at the restaurant very really accomodating when we had special request for our kids or parents . The massages were really nice . There was horse riding, water sports a cordoned off swimming area at the beach. Will be sure to come again next yr.
The surroundings are all very nice - it is visible that owners care a lot about the resort to be instagram friendly ;) great two swimming pools - especially an infinity pool which we practically had all for ourselves most of the time. If you fancy beach more than pools than it is recommended to use grab or bus and go to Batu Ferringhi as I did not find any nice beach spot in a walking distance.
Great hotel. Every member of the staff I had contact with was wonderful. Super comfortable bed. Really nice pools and beautiful grounds. Great beachfront location. It wasn’t perfect. Some areas could use a little love, but overall, it was great, and if I ever needed a Batu Ferringhi hotel, I would stay there without hesitation.
The place was clean and the host was very nice.
From the day we booked till check out , the host been kind and advice us list of things to take note.
We went as family of 5 and its suits us well . Furthermore its more near to beach and affordable compared to other hotels or apartments.
Definitely will book this again.
The cleanless is very good , comfortable bed good mattress, they provide hot water kettle for making coffee .the reception guy treat us like a family he is very kind person .
Sheets are clean .very good place quite room specially for those who are backpackers I recommend this hotel cheap near beach .
I liked everything.. the best hotel in Penang!
The theme park was amazing and the beach was good as well.. less crowd at the beach since only hotel guests were majority. Buffet was lovely and tasty!
Will come again😀
Enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and very effecient. Breakfast was amazing. Family friendly resort with lots of kids activities. Loads of restaurants around and walking distance to night market. Great hotel.
The location is near to bt ferringhi Beach, town. We enjoy playing pool table, foosball at the lobby. Lobby is huge with chairs and sofas with good view. The cafe coffes is nice and consider cheap for hotel.
Location very near to beach and have a lot of restaurant.. environment hotel not privacy can hear voice and people walk..overall is good and very comfortable to stay underbudget.
Kinda shock because it is a decent budget hotel. The room is really really clean. Air kat toilet laju. The staff are friendly. Ada coway and ironing section.
The staff and the owner are really support us when whe need them. The distance from the hotel to the beach is perfect to walk and enjoy the asmotphere.
