The hotel, though not spacious, pays great attention to detail, and the service staff were exceedingly warm and hospitable. The breakfast was generous and varied. Our room was sizable and impeccably clean, in fact, it was the cleanest we've encountered during our trip. Although the hotel is relatively close to the station, it proved to be slightly farther than convenient for us traveling with young children.

The hotel is in a great central location and only a short walk from the train station and the Palace. We were upgraded to a family room which was a lovely gesture and a rose given to mothers for Mother's day. The main bed was comfortable and the room had nice facilities like a coffee machine and bath robes. The windows had good sound proofing and block-out blinds. The breakfast buffet had a good range of items and the staff were very friendly.

Great location directly opposite the railway station. We could watch the station traffic and the Matterhorn Gotthard railway from our balcony. The hotel looks a bit retro inside and is a little bit worn in places, but is very clean, comfortable and functional, and we had everything we needed. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. A pleasant continental buffet was provided for breakfast. The town of Brig is interesting to walk around with a good choice of restaurants in the evening.
We parked in the Parkhaus Bahnhof (Station multistorey car park), as the parking at the front of the hotel has only a few spaces and is meter parking. The Parkhaus Bahnhof was not very expensive and it was easy to wheel our cases from there across the station forecourt to the hotel. There was a lift inside the hotel for the cases :-)

Very quiet room, and very comfortable bed, and pillow. I could sleep very well. Breakfast was small, but it was enough. Self check-in was perfect, because I could only come late at night.

The location of this hotel was excellent, opposite the railway station. The bedroom was large and also a small lift which was a bonus.

Brig is a pretty town surrounded by mountains. There are lots of restaurant options and shops and a sweet old town. There is a very striking Palace to visit and some lovely nearby walks, including one to a gorge. They have a local pool and a set of thermal pools a short bus ride away.

Great wee town.
Great wee town. The centre was beautiful, as were the surrounding views. We ate at a local wee German restaurant and they seemed surprised we never booked! getting around Brig was easy...just walk, it's not that big. We would have loved to have explored distant villages, but we had no personal transport. We'd come back and explore more.

Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley.
Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley. It represents a train junction both east to west and north to south allowing access to the cities of Bern & Milan. The town is quite and has a few shops and restaurants which only stay open for a short time in the evening. The centre of the town is car free so peaceful to walk around at night. Brig offers transport links by both bus and train to many of the ski resorts in the area. Be aware that travel by train to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn cost 150CF for two people. Drinks & food are expensive in the town but it is safe and pleasant to walk around. There are numerous walks along the river and into the hillside.

Good location in Switzerland, with direct trains from Zürich and Geneva airports and Basel SBB station (a bus goes from Basel airport to Basel SBB), just over an hour by train from Berne. Good hiking opportunities, for example from nearby Naters up to Blatten and further up to Belalp.

Honestly, there isn't much to do here.
Honestly, there isn't much to do here. I stayed here because it's where the Glacier Express ended. I would not recommend it at a destination but if you need a place to spend the night in this area, it is fine.
We travelled to Brig to do a day trip to Zermatt then connect with the Glacier Express the next day. Brig was much quieter than Zermatt and the hotel was a lovely place to return to for the night. Close to restaurants, and the train station and in beautiful surroundings. Such friendly staff, spacious rooms for us and our children, and a delicious breakfast. Great value for money and the ideal place to meet the Glacier Express for the Brig to Chur leg (we did the Zurich to Zermatt section on the regular train). Would definitely return.
Breakfast was excellent - home-made muesli, home-made preserves and home-made bread as well as a selection of cheeses and cooked meats... The room was great - twice the size of most hotel rooms, with a view over the nearby castle towers and of the mountains (of course)! The location was great - only three minutes' walk from a choice of restaurants and five minutes from the main shopping and eating area of Brig.
In Brig, there is no better location than in the region of the Castle and the view from the hotel is fabulous. The hotel itself has a lot of character, cosy, breakfast was ok and the staff were very friendly and kind. It’s also a good location to be able to tour from, only a 10 mins walk to Brig station and can tour easily from there.
The room was appointed / set out very nicely, considering its small size. It was perfectly comfortable for a 1 night stay.
The hotel staff were outstanding - we had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and we were looked after perfectly - thank you all staff.
We spent a night there in a five-bed room. The room was not crowded with beds, there was enough space for everybody.
Facilities were great. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant and it was fine. The staff was very friendly with us.
The owner is really great, super helpful and responsive. The location is very close to Brig center and Bahnhof, 10 minutes walk. Great views out of every window. Uncomplicated check in and check out.
Location is super, walking distance from the train station to the hotel. Also very close to the castle. The room is very nice and clean.
Staff are all very friendly. The breakfast is simple and nice.
Excellent location just in front of the Brig Train Station. Very big & comfortable room. Worth the money. sure to stay in again in the future when re visit brig again. very friendly & nice staff.
We had a balcony on the fourth floor. And we spent a lot of time there to watch the world go by. That little balcony, if nothing else, is where we are going to leave our hearts in Switzerland.
The price was affordable, considering the cost of everything in Switzerland. The people there seemed nice, although we didn't have a lot of interaction as we stayed for only one night.
